Email address for Retail Assessments
Dear Students
Yes you can email me your written assessments to nicole.schell@tafensw.edu.au
Please put your the name of the assessment and your class number in the subject box.
Please put a header on each page with your class and the name of the assessment and your name!
If you cannot make it to class and you have a practical assessment you need a doctors certificate with the date of the assessment on it and you need to redo the assessment in retake week - Week 18.

Week 1 & 2 Communicate in the Workplace
What have we covered:
- Communicate in the Workplace Assessment handed out in Week 1 - due in Week 3 in your class time. Part A, the last part of Part C, and Part D are written. Part B & C are a role-play and presentation to be done in class.
- Remember to turn up to class on time - especially for assessments. The doors will be locked at 1.30pm unless you have a very good excuse.
- We have covered all the Learning Outcomes listed in the Student Workbook: Communicate in the Workplace
- We have logged on to the www.flexiblelearning.net.au and found the Retail Toolbox 212 and worked through the activities

job seeking website update
Hi ladies,
Just a note to let you know that you may have been trying to look up www.spacareer.com.au and could not get into the site, well we forgot the 'au'... so all is fixed now thanks to K.L.

Help for the Job Seeking Skills Assessment
Assessment Task 1 - download the Template for Task 1 in the Links Menu on the Retail blog and using the job websites in a previous posting on the blog fill in the template for 4 jobs.
Assessment Task 2 - using one of the job adverts from Task 1, download the template for the letter and the resume from the blog. Write an application letter and resume as though you were applying for this job.
Assessment Task 3 - Attend a "mock" job interview for the job you made the application for in Task 2. This is with me at college on the Wednesday night.
Assessment Task 4 - After you have had the "job interview" - I will give you the self-evaulation form and you can fill it in then and give it to me!
Before you hand in the assessments use the teriffic checklists to make sure you have everything covered. There are checklists for the resume and application letter.
Before you attend the interview with me, make sure you read the section on "preparing for your interview". It will give you lots of great tips as well as ideas for questions that will be asked and ones that should be asked by you...

ADRIENNE'S & RUBA'S BEAUTY EXPO PHOTOS!
We attended the Beauty Expo on Saturday 9th September 2006. Here are a few photos we took at the stands. We found the Beauty Expo great as we leant about some new products that we had never seen before, and overall gained a better understanding of the Beauty Industry and all the great services and products that are available to us!
